A Red Key

Red Key #246: Berlin Experience

Claudia Atts and her family are wonderful ambassadors for Jesus Christ. They hosted a group of students from FBC McKinney,TX for a Spring Mission Trip and we felt the love of the Lord throughout the week. They met our every need while providing a multitude of opportunities for us to share the gospel. We were blessed! As a result of the Att’s hard work and preparation over 400 heard the message and several made decisions.

Claudia is an amazing, talented woman who loves the Lord and shows it in so many ways. It is obvious as she speaks to her congregation that she knows and attends to their needs. As a journalist and writer she uses her talents to promote the gospel to believers and non-believers in non-traditional ways. Her heart is to serve the Lord and she seizes every opportunity to do that. It was a privilege to pass on a Red Key to such a gracious lady who embodies the meaning of a Proverbs 31 woman.

This is one amazing woman! She and her husband, a phenomenal chef, run one of the best restaurants I have ever had the opportunity to visit! She is creative, fun and full of life…always willing to lend a helping hand and a smile! One of the nicest treats I ever received was from her after the birth of my second child…she arrived at the hospital with a full course meal, dishes, silverware, bubbly & even a tablecloth! After setting up our fabulous treat (never had the hospital seen such fabulous food served on their trays :)
That night and meal remain on of my favorites to this day! Thank you cyndi!

Hello

We discovered the red key on my family’s first trip to Philly. We discovered it on the side of the Rocky steps. My family and I were busy running up the steps when my mom found the key. My mom handled it to me and I put it in my purse and decide to keep it. When we arrived back to New York City I found it again and decide to check out the website. I think it is an amazing project. I am taking a road trip to California and Mexico in a few days. I want to take the key with me and leave it somewhere to see where it will end up next. Happy 2013!

-Harold Philly museum of art…I met Harold today, and he reminded me of the beauty in art…appreciating the time, skill and devotion an artist must take in their work. His heart was overflowing and I was excited to hear about his own artistic pursuits. Best of luck Harold with your furniture creating- your artistic heart was warm and welcoming today at the museum!

This is the church my grandfather built… both literally and figuratively. For fifteen years he served as minister in the 50s & 60s… Moving his growing congregation into the new larger building that still stands today…overseeing construction, raising funds…all while raising his two boys (my father and uncle) on the sandy streets and beaches of New Jersey.
Reverend David Flemming is the current pastor overseeing the congregation that still sits in the same pews once occupied by my dad.

Lucy the elephant , Margate City Beach

I have seen so many pictures of my father on this beach…tanned, strong, carefree with his blonde curls tousled as he posed on surf boards. Lucy the elephant watched his antics then as she still stands tall above the shoreline now. Jeremy & Jack were in the Lucy shop today, sharing stories of then & now.
I wanted to give a key to Lucy the elephant…to tell her thank you for the memories my father shared with us of his youthful days on the Margate City Beach patrol…

Thank you…

These are two easy words…but not always ones at the ready. This project has strived to recognize acts of kindness, the small gifts given, sometimes not even knowingly, but those that make ones life better, perhaps even easier, and definitely all together richer.
If you have received a red key, whether by me, or found, or passed along, I encourage you to continue the cycle. Look around, find someone blessing you…and pass the key along. Maybe it is just with thanks, or a smile…or use this simple journal as an opportunity to truly tell them how much they mean to you.

Red Key #180

I received my key from Kijsa one evening after taking part in one of her Pinterest parties. She was explaining the red key project to us and gave us each a key. I have carried it in my purse for about 6 weeks. I really felt I was to give it to one of my daughter in laws who has a blended family of five children. She is such a blessing to my son and grand children and of course to her own children. She goes the extra mile and I am so thankful for her. So I wrote out a Christmas card and told her what a blessing she is to us and enclosed the red key and it was one of her gifts for Christmas. She cried when she read the card. Our key is number 180 and can’t wait to see where it ends up. What a fun way to remind us to be thankful and most of all to tell others how thankful we are for them! Thanks Kijsa!
